If you like the look of a white house with black hair, there are several ways to achieve it. The most obvious thing to do is to paint your house white. White Houses With Black Trim Inspiration
Sherwin Williams White Duck is an off-white with yellow and yellow accents. It may look sweet but it is never yellow. We used it in our current house and it looks amazing with our black windows, gutters and downspouts.
Benjamin Moore White Dove Another warm white, but not as sweet as White Duck. If you are looking for a neutral white paint color, White Dove is a good choice.
Sherwin Williams Alabaster is a soft white paint color. It is another warm white with greige undertones. So you don’t have to worry about the exterior of your house looking yellow. There is enough gray to offset the yellow.
Once you’ve chosen a white paint color, you need to know how you want to add black decor or accents to your home. There are many ways to do this.
Wanting The White House Black Trim Look On The Exterior?
The most expensive option is to add black windows. If you are doing a remodel, this is the best option. It’s also a big commitment. That means if you commit to black windows, it’s not something you can easily change if you decide you don’t like the look.
We went with black windows for our modern farmhouse. The windows and garage doors are the only two black things we used. The result was a clean and modern look with contrasts.
Another way to make black hair stand out is to opt for black flood and drain. When it comes to home design, gutters and downspouts are often secondary considerations. But if you choose to go black, they can become a real feature of your home’s exterior.
If you really want to take the white interior look to the next level, you can paint your interior black. And by trim, I mean the magic boards and maybe even your soffit. Fascia boards are the boards that run along your roof and behind the gutters. A soffit is something below the eaves. If you decide to paint these areas black it will make a big difference. So make sure this is the look you want before proceeding.

As you know, our house is split with cream brick and white siding. I’ve always loved the white and black house look, but it’s too dark for any colors. I’ve been playing around with some mockups for our house with black frame windows or dark paint around the windows but I haven’t quite decided what I want to do.
