Cheap Bathroom Designs For Small Bathrooms – Want to modernize a small bathroom without spending a fortune? This bathroom renovation is full of smart ideas for small bathrooms.

I don’t mean a new pillow on the couch. It’s an easy trick. I mean something more complicated. Like the building space, which is not bad, but also not as big as the rest of the house.

Even “new” homes have many rooms that fit this description. A living room with a warm fireplace or stained moldings. Entrance with dull ceramic tiles. A kitchen with very average sized cabinets or a not so good back wall.

Maybe the paint is not particularly bad and the product is in perfect condition. But the more you look at it, the more you realize that it just drops everything around it.

However, it is not worth spending a lot of money because the update is only cosmetic in nature.

In my experience, 9 times out of 10 a decent upgrade is worth it. You will likely get your money back when you sell, as upgraded rooms are highly desirable and you may enjoy the upgrades while living there.

However, there are two caveats to this advice. First of all, it goes without saying that you should be able to afford it. There is no reason to go into debt for something that is largely cosmetic.

Second, the simpler the upgrade, the better. If you don’t have to remap the room and can simply upgrade items, you’ll save a lot of money.

This happened in one of our secondary toilets, a small toilet that was completely harmless. There are no yellow tiles or leaking pipes. In fact, it was very neutral and less than 10 years old. (See image above.)

For the first few years in our house, I painted the walls a neutral color (they used to be blue), got white accessories, and tried to make the room visually appealing.

I knew from the beginning that this was going to be a low-key project that required a lot of compromises to keep the budget low. My first tip is to pick your battles. I would love to remove the tub, raise the shower floor and add a large iron and glass door. But for a small guest bathroom that isn’t used or seen often, it wasn’t necessary.

The most important thing for me was replacing the ceramic tile and the very basic vanity, so I focused my energy and money on that.

Being a big fan of marble, I chose the original. In the original plan, which you can see here, I wanted to use classic white bevelled subway tile for the shower walls, but when I got the tile, I realized that Carrara marble alone wouldn’t do much. Expensive and adds much-needed character to the room.

The beauty of a small space is that you can spend less money on materials without breaking the bank. I also applied this logic to the mosaic marble floor. And if you shop at a large chain store instead of a tile store, you can take advantage of the lower prices that come with a one-time markup and larger inventory.

I decided to install crown molding and tile up to the ceiling for a clean finish that gives a high quality look.

One decision that brought significant savings was removing the shower door and replacing it with a beautiful linen shower curtain. I could definitely see this as a temporary solution, but now that the room is done, the soft linen rug is one of my favorite features in my room, and I doubt I’ll be replacing it anytime soon. We hung the curtain with a tension rod, so no drilling was necessary.

In a room this size, the vanity is king, the tile is the background, but the vanity is the star, so it has to be right. This is where we allocate most of our budget and my tip is to plan it out and then get the piece you really like.

It’s not saving if you buy a piece, save a little money, and then spend it on extra expenses because of a mistake.

I learned this the hard way, but luck also played a role. From the beginning I wanted this vanity with a light wooden front and the way the warm wood harmonizes with the cool marble was the heart of my design concept. But the price was higher than what I wanted to spend.

So I found a cheap vanity that didn’t quite capture the look, but ordered it anyway to keep costs down. As soon as I ordered it, I knew it wasn’t what I really wanted, and when another vanity was overdue, I immediately canceled it and bought the one I was most interested in.

When the tiles and vanity were gone, only the accessories remained. At first I chose antique brass. I love the mix of warm and cool, and the gold tone would go well with the lighter wood.

I chose a Gooseneck faucet with sleek lines and a subtle curved mirror topped with a three-light bulb for a sleek look. I’m not usually the type to always fit the same way, but the metal pieces in this small space complement each other.

From the same line, I chose a toilet paper holder, a towel ring and a towel bar, as well as a hook behind the door. From bathroom and bath towels to bath and even bath rugs, there are wonderful white terry fabrics.

I’ve kept my make-up under control, just fresh flowers in a small vase and a lovely set of hand wash and moisturizer. Since this is a guest bathroom, I prefer bottled soap to bar variety and less mess is better.

The last addition was the artwork for the wall. I found a lovely picture of French soap from Provence and put it in an old wooden frame. Like the rest of the room, it offers a touch of authenticity at a very low price. Perfect ending!

If you have a room that you want to enjoy without investing a large construction budget, plan carefully, choose pieces that are worth your budget, and stay classic and understated for the supporting cast. Change only what needs to be changed and use simplicity to your advantage.
