Not so white and almost yellow, the oil in them is warm and clean. Oklahoma Burr Wheat (350E-3) will do well with dark browns and slate blues for accents and will positively shine next to well-kept grass greens.
A neutral that is a cross between green and gray, like Benjamin Moore’s Cypress Green (509), never disappoints. The greens among these do not fade with the grass and compare to gray and black curtains or white and cream curtains.
The white farm is an American icon with timeless appeal. For the renovation image here, Amy Hendel considered many exterior colors, but in the end, she settled on Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White (#967). “It’s not white, but has a creamy yellow tone that complements any style of home,” says Hendel.

You want your home to have good curb appeal, and you don’t want to make a color mistake. If you follow my seven steps below, I promise you’ll avoid common mistakes and be able to make great exterior paint decisions! Stay with me on this one!
The first thing you’ll want to do when deciding what color to paint your home’s exterior is choosing a color tone. When I say “shade” I mean do you want a light, medium or dark color in the body of your house? At this point, you don’t need to consider anything other than deciding whether you want a light or white color, a medium or medium color, or a dark color.

For most of you, choosing a color is an easy and quick decision, and you immediately know whether you want a light or dark room. However, some of you may be unsure and open to any shade and need a little help making that decision. It helps if you search Pinterest for home exteriors to determine what color will work best for your home. For example, if you have a ranch-style home, search Pinterest for “ranch homes” to see all the different color options that will inspire you.
Before you go any further in your color decision, you should consider the color of your roof. If you have a neutral black or gray, you don’t need to worry too much about clashing colors. Unfortunately, I have a dark brown roof with a slight red undertone, so colors like shades of green or blue won’t work for me and will clash. For those of you who have a roof with red, yellow, green or blue-gray tones on your shingles, you should definitely consider your roof color when choosing your exterior color palette.
If you’re like me and have a dark brown roof with shingles that have red undertones, you’ll want to keep the main body color neutral to keep your home safe. If you have shingles with green or blue-gray undertones, you have a little more leeway and you’ll avoid color clashes if you choose a neutral color or mix in a little color from your shingles to compliment and not fight. . If you have a black roof, you can do anything.
If you have stone or brick in your home, you should also consider the strong tone of your brick or stone. If your house is solid brick and you need to choose a trim color, I would match the lightest, medium, or darkest color found in the stone/brick and use that as the trim color.

If your home is not brick/stone and half brick/brick, or you only have brick/stone accents, you have more room with color options for your home’s exterior body color. As long as your body color is a bit of a brick/stone color, you shouldn’t have any collision problems. For example, if your brick is a warm tone and you want to use gray in your home, choose a warm gray instead of a cool gray. So it’s the gray heat that binds the new body color to the brick. Does this make sense?
