Wall Colors Joanna Gaines Uses – If you’re trying to redesign your home but aren’t sure what colors go well together, it can be a bit frustrating. Especially when you just bought a house and every room has a flower wall like mine in the 1980s! It can also be boring to go back and forth from paint shop to shop with paint sticks. I feel like when I try to pick colors, I already know every color combination. I ended up browsing Pinterest, looking for inspiration and trying to find a look that looked similar. Of course, each color will look different in your room, but I think it’s much easier to imagine a color when you actually see it on someone else’s walls, right? And since I’m the biggest Fixer Upper fan, I decided to put together some home colors inspired by Joanna Gaines herself. So we talk about Joanna’s favorite colors and how she combines colors to create open, inviting homes and fluid transitions.

First, let’s talk about Joanna’s old favorites. I want to share these first because they are mine. I used these colors in my house and I can tell you they are just as beautiful as the houses on Fixer Upper! At the beginning of the Fixer Upper show, Joanna was really into powder blues and greens. Very light, airy house colors that I love! So here’s a color scheme for the entire Fixer Upper house based on Joanna’s favorites!

Let’s start with the design color. The easiest way to add cohesion to your home is to stick to a color scheme. Joanna often uses Sherwin Williams Alabaster and sometimes Sherwin Williams Pure White in her trim. Decorating your entire home in one color creates a home where the rooms flow seamlessly together.

Every home needs a neutral wall color. Joanna likes to use gray tones for the main living spaces of her homes. Some of her favorites are Sherwin Williams Mindful Grey, Oyster Pearl and Passive Grey. Repose Gray is a shade lighter than Mindful and would look great in an open living space. A friend of mine just chose this color for her living room and open dining room and she loves it! However, before you paint walls, get a color sample first! 🙂

Let’s go over some great accent colors. Joanna said she really likes the blues and greens of the weather. I can say without a doubt that Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is one of the most beautiful colors I have ever used. No wonder the color is so popular with Joanna and other designers. It is the perfect teal color and looks great in any room. I used it when renovating the bathroom and laundry room!

Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray is not too gray at all in my opinion. Another beam of dust. And I’m in love! Joanna uses this color in living rooms and bedrooms that need a little more color, but this color is never overwhelming! Perfect for a guest room or office.

A master bedroom is the perfect place for Sherwin Williams Intellectual Gray. This color has a nice warmth, especially on a wooden floor. Joanna used this color for her master bedroom and I just can’t get enough! Be careful though, if your room doesn’t have a lot of natural light, this color can be a mistake.

Yes, magic happened last week while I was on vacation. Designer Joanna Gaines has teamed up with Kilz Paint to launch her new paint line called Magnolia Home Paint and I couldn’t be more excited and impressed with the collection. I didn’t know he even worked on the paint line. This woman seriously does it all and I just love it! 🙂

I’m not the least bit surprised at how Joanna really nailed these colors and created something so fresh and beautiful. Honestly, I wish more designers would create boutique collections because they really know colors and understand them in a more authentic and lively way.

Joanna’s colors are all perfect and I think it’s especially smart that she teamed up with Kilz, who make the best color palettes on the market. I haven’t tried the color yet as it just came out but I can only imagine how amazing it is in collaboration with Kilz and Joanna.

The color is currently only available at Joanna Gaines online store called Magnolia Market here. I read that select furniture stores offer it everywhere. I’m not entirely sure what that means in the long run, and since it just hit the market, it’s a little early to tell where it will sell. I’m sure if it does well to begin with, a big box store will definitely try to stock it.
