Free 20 X 20 Shed Plans – This step by step woodworking project is for a 10 x 20 gable shed plan. The barn has a gable roof with two large side windows, a front door and a double front door. If you want to create a lot of storage space and create a special workshop for woodworking, this house is very useful in any yard. Before starting your project, read local regulations to meet requirements. See my other DIY projects here. Individual designs of this house are available in the store.
We advise you to invest in the best you can afford. Therefore, it is worth buying weather-resistant wood, such as pine or cedar. Always take accurate measurements before sizing your portions to the correct size. Before installing the chips, drill pilot holes in the pieces to prevent the wood from splitting. My Plans includes a full list/shopping list and can be downloaded and printed in PDF format. See all my custom designs here.

The first stage of the project is to make the floor frame. Cut the dowels from a 2×6 board. Straighten curved edges and make sure the corners are square. Place the 16-inch dowels in the center. Drill pilot holes and insert 3 1/2″ screws. Alternatively, you can use hangers. Measure the diagonals and adjust until they are even.
Pre Built 12×20 Storage Sheds
Use 4×4 boards for skiing. Place the guides under the floor covering. Use turnbuckles to attach the guides to the floor frame.
Use 3/4 inch tongue and groove plywood. Since the floor is exposed to moisture, invest in durable plywood. Cut the paper to the size shown in the image and cut list. Do not leave gaps between the sheets, straighten the edges so that they rise. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8-inch screws every 8 inches into the frame to secure the fabric.
Use 2×4 wood to frame the back wall. Cut the pieces to the appropriate size as shown in the picture. Re-drill pilot holes in the boards and add 3 1/2″ screws to attach the protective frame. Make sure the corners are square and the edges are rounded. Place the 16-inch strips in the center.
Then install the 10×20 shed front wall frame. As you can see in the picture, you need to leave 96 inches of space to install two 4-foot doors. For the double header, use 2×6 wood. Place 1/2-inch plywood between 2x6s to make it 3 1/2 inches thick. You can adjust the size of the space and adapt it to your needs.

Then install the sidewall frame, doors and windows. Having a second door on the side of the house makes it easier to get in without having to use the front double doors. In addition to the hotel, I added two 3′ x 3′ windows to the wall to let more light into the house. Use 2×4 boards for the panels. Use 2×6 wood for the lintel of a double door. The door size can be adjusted to suit your needs.
Drill pilot holes in the boards and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the material. Place dowels every 16 inches on center. Use double headers for windows too.
Build the opposite wall of the site using the same methods described above. Place the 16-inch strips in the center. Use double screws on both ends of the frame.
Attach the wall frames to the floor. Straighten the edges so they rise and fall directly above the soul. Drill pilot holes and insert 3 1/2″ screws into the bottom plates of the floor frame. Make sure the corners are square and block the adjacent wall with 3 1/2″ screws.

For exterior walls, use 5/8″ T1-11 wall panels. Attach the sheets to the top of the sidewall and apply edge bands. Every 8th, drive 8d nails into the wall frames. Use a hacksaw to cut holes for doors and windows.
Place the top sheets on the other side of the house as well. Do not leave gaps between the sheets, straighten the edges so that they rise.
Align the facade of building T1-11. Notice the insert 1 1/2″ from the top. Make cuts around the hole.
Install the back of the T1-11 housing. Notice the insert 1 1/2″ from the top.

Stage 2 is the first stage of construction of the building. I recommend going with an engineer because he comes to the construction site already installed and designed for the local climate. In this way, the mechanical engineer obtains the best value for money.
However, I will show you an idea of how I build a project for myself. Use 2×4 wood for the beams and base. Use a jigsaw to cut the strips as shown in the image.
Place it horizontally on the screen and then glue the parts as shown in the image. You can set up the jig to speed up the rest of the job.

Use strong connecting plates to attach parts with construction nails. Alternatively, you can use 1/2″ plywood for the inserts. Place the inserts over the joints, aligning the ends so they are flush. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws. You can add construction glue to the joints. It is also best to place inserts on both sides of the trusses.
Attach the beams to the top of the shed. Center each piece 16 inches apart and use a leveling stand to keep it level. Use cable ties to secure internal fasteners.
Use T1-11 foil to cover the front and back of the shed. Straighten the edges and do not leave gaps between the sheets. Insert 8d nails to secure the fabric.
The next step in the project is to attach the 1/2 inch thick plywood sheets to the top of the roof. Straighten the ends to be folded, then lock with 8 screws each at the 1 5/8″ mark. Make sure you don’t leave any gaps between the sheets to create a nested effect. You can use other patterns to place the sheets.

Use 2×4 boards to support the frame. The same applies to beams. Attached to the front and back of the house. Drill pilot holes and insert 3 1/2″ screws to secure these supports.
For the actual ceiling, use 1×6 moldings. Cut the boards as shown in the picture and then place them on the support. Do not leave gaps between the roof covering and suspended boards. Drill pilot holes in the mounting brackets and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the brackets.
Attach the 1×6 strips to the sides of the roof. Use 8d nails to lock the screws.
The next stage of carpentry work is covering the roof. As you can see in the picture, make sure the roof pieces are spaced about 2 inches apart. Additionally, glue the sheet together using plywood and clamps. Then,
