Apparently there’s a new type of modular log cabin making the rounds on the internet: it’s a deck house! From the outside, it looks like a typical log house, but when you step inside, you’ll find a giant open loft that covers almost the entire interior. I must say that is pretty clever!
We visited Terrace Homes in Friendship, Wisconsin and this log cabin style modular home is absolutely beautiful! Capital G. Terrace Homes, however, only builds modular homes in Wisconsin.
Received This Floor Plan From A Modular Builder After A Meeting And Expressing That We Wanted An Open Concept. Not Sure How I Feel About The First Floor?
The exterior of this stunning modular log home is amazing! The first thing that immediately stands out is the large veranda and series of large windows located in front of the cabin. I also have a beautiful fireplace that also features on the porch.
At the front of the house there is a staircase leading to the entrance which has a lovely rustic wooden staircase to the top. Then, just above the door, there is exposed woodwork as well as a lovely wrought iron pendant light hanging from the top of the door.
As you move around the house, you’ll see several more windows coming out of many different rooms. This includes the loft and master bedroom. There is also beautiful hand-hewn wood paneling around this home that gives it the feel of an authentic log home.
Then on the other side of the house you will find a skylight located on the ceiling. This houses a half bath in the cool attic.
Saratoga Modular Homes
As you enter the home you will be greeted with an open concept layout and beautiful open rooms upstairs. Directly opposite the door is a ladder leading to the attic. Then sit next to it in the living room.
The living room is a large space with enough space for several furniture arrangements. The high ceiling above gives the room a grander atmosphere. While the placement of the large windows at the front of the house provides an abundance of natural light.
To the rear of the living room are sliding glass doors that provide access to the front of this large porch.
Now in this great room, of course, there is a huge floor-to-ceiling fireplace with a huge stone surround! If it were me, I would direct at least part of my living room to the fireplace!!
Hampton Modular Home Floor Plan
The fireplace features a beautiful thick wood surround and a lovely raised hearth. So much room for decoration or you can even add a TV if you like. Then you’ll also see accent lights on the ceiling to highlight any decorations you want to hang on the fireplace itself.
You enter the dining room past the fireplace. Again, the dining room also features sliding glass doors that lead to the large porch. There is enough space for both a large dining table and a sideboard or chest of drawers.
Then a beautiful rustic chandelier hangs above the kitchen table. Of course, lighting fixtures are one of those things that can always be modified and made to your personal taste. I love how they combined all the wood and metal throughout the house.
Behind the dining room you will find the kitchen. The kitchen has a lovely little L-shaped island with two more beautiful wrought iron pendant lights hanging above it.
Custom Modular Homes Ny, Vt, Ma, Pa & Nh
On the living room and dining room side of the island is a small ledge to accommodate three or four stools. Then on the opposite side there are open shelving cabinets as well as a few other cabinets with nice slides.
The main kitchen counter is located next door, under a beautiful loft. At the back of the house you will find a built-in stove and microwave. On the bottom cabinet, just below, you’ll find several drawers, including two lazy susans. Which I find nice.
Then, looking around the side of the house, just below the pretty window, you’ll also find a sink and some other cabinets and drawers.
To the left of the kitchen you will find a staircase leading to the basement. Beyond is a hallway that leads to all the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Chalet Modular Floor Plans
However, the first room you come to is on the left side of the hallway and is the laundry room. Here you have a washer and dryer hook placed right in front of the door. Then to the rear of the laundry room is a long counter perfect for folding your clothes with several cupboards directly above.
A little further, on the same side of the hallway, you will come to the first full bathroom. The bathroom has a large single sink, toilet and shower/tub combination.
Across the hall, at the end of the hall, is the smaller of the two bedrooms. The bedroom measures approximately 9’6″ X 12’0″ and has enough space for a good sized bed and a desk or two.
