Sherwin Williams Cool Gray Colors – Blue-grey is difficult to use. The wrong shade of paint can be completely blue, gray or dull. I work in a children’s room and they are interested in the blue color on the walls.
Finding a good blue-grey paint is important. I want color to be neutral and give our kids the colors they want in their bedrooms.

Rock Candy is a pale gray blue in the white and pastel family. It’s a soft, refreshing color and would look great in a nursery or bathroom.
Misty is a neutral family favorite of mine for kids’ rooms. The color appears to be light blue with gray undertones and is lighter than Samovar Silver.
If you want to go a little darker, Krypton is a great blue-gray color. Krypton belongs to the Neutral family and is more shadowy than Polaris. It leans more toward cool gray than warm gray.
The Best Sherwin Williams Gray Paint Colors In 2021
It shows online in a light gray sweater, but the walls have a nice blue tone. This color will fit well in a living room or bedroom. This is from the Pottery Barn/Summer 2018 collection.
The top is light and fresh, more blue than the gray on the sweater. This color will go well in a dining room or bedroom. Upstairs is in the children’s spring/summer 2018 collection.

Now, I don’t specifically do color consulting with BEHR (BM and SW) and don’t know their colors in depth, but this information should help you OBVIOUSLY. And while I’m usually a SAUCY lil’ Zinger, these blog posts make it easy to get started on your next painting project!
By the way, I don’t use Behr paints, and I only use pictures from E-DIZIG customers, there are no pictures of these colors, but I will show you the Color Comparisons for a general idea.
Really Amazing Blue Gray Paint Colors In Action
The color caps below are approximate. Click on the color name shown in red to view on Behr’s website.
Dolphin Fin is a slightly warm gray – not traditionally warm in the sense of looking cool, but cool. I call it “Storm Grey”. By LRV 59, Dolphin Fin is a light dark gray, but not light, but a slightly heavier color.
ANY gray will have cool undertones, and while Dolphin Fin is no exception, the undertones are very passive and similar to Sherwin Williams Repose Gray, a popular warm gray paint color.
The silver drop offers a CLOSE view of the gray. With LRV 69, it is light gray – unwashed, but not nearly as fleshy as Dolphin Fin. I can see right away that Silver Drop is one of the color ninjas – the gray can take any of the 3 cool tones with a bit of inspiration, it at least favors the green. The appearance of this color can be influenced by the room, the interior and even the personal feeling!

You’ll also notice that the silver drop is warmer, especially compared to other cool gray paint colors, without hitting the hard edge of things.
Misty Coast is my favorite Bear Grey. It’s cool but not FRI, a very soft, subtle blue-toned subtle stormy look that might make some people shake their tea…but still.
There is LRV 68 on the Misty Coast, which is well hidden in a beautiful area. But if you ask me, it looks like it should be a bit lower LRV, but I thought it might be due to turbulence.
Silver City has a little more meat on its legs with the LRV 57. Still in the bright range, but it’s NOT bright, so it might not be the best for a dark room.
Best Home Decor Paint Colors: Sherwin Williams Comfort Gray
When it comes to sounds, this bad boy is “relatively” neutral, but that means it can be easily controlled with exposure, interior trim, and personal touch. I can see from the cool tones that it might favor a cool green/tea.
No doubt you’ll be heading towards colored lights in the near future – stop! I want you to check out AMP samples of shell and stick paints. Cheaper, lighter and more environmentally friendly than traditional paint cans. Also, their patterns are much larger than small pieces of paper.
With LRV 65 the sterling light range is beautiful, not too heavy, not washed out. Unlike the two above, which has a shimmery “stormy and soft” feel, Sterling is a COOOOL gray with a subtle blue-purple undertone. This tone can balance a southern exposure beautifully, but may be too cold for a north-facing room.
Eon is a beautiful, muted, calming gray. Not traditionally cold, but not super dirty or hot either. Eon has a soft, beautiful green tone that can jump a little to green-blue, perhaps with light from the north or east.
