Have you ever wanted a black kitchen look but didn’t dare? With Farrow & Ball’s black palette, we think there’s one right up your alley. It goes from all black, to black with red and black with blue. The “railing” color is a popular choice for Nicholas Bridger’s new kitchen, a soft black with a hint of blue.
Farrow & Ball was founded in Dorset in 1946 by two men, John Farrow and Richard Ball, who were passionate about using the highest quality materials to create rich and original colours. In the 90s, Farrow & Ball went from strength to strength with an inspiring color palette that resonated with the era, and how unique designs changed Farrow & Ball houses large and small, both modern and traditional.
From Country Style To Contemporary
At Nicholas Bridger we are delighted to offer hand made kitchens from Farrow & Ball, as they are a British manufacturer and a well known company. After the cabinets are built, we hand paint our kitchen on site with a beautiful brush finish that matches the grain of the wood.
Farrow & Ball Railing is a soft black with blue accents. It is more blue than black, but below the black chart. Railing is a softer option than black, especially in line with the steel from which it got its name. It makes the perfect statement in the kitchen, and its dark color can transform a room into an impressive and inviting place. Two of our recent clients in Ongar and Harringay chose this color for the Shaker Classic wheels in their home.
There’s a nice little story behind the Woodford Green project below. The kitchen was originally built by us 3 years ago for the previous owner while it was in the middle of the house. The new owners built this open plan extension and contacted us to keep the kitchen as they wanted it to be solid and beautiful. We adjusted the layout of the kitchen furniture to match the new space and painted it with Farrow & Ball Railings. Our client wanted an industrial feel in their new kitchen, so with chrome appliances and furniture in muted black and blue, the room was transformed into a stunning and complete space.
Our classic shaker design at Ongar is painted with “rails” by Farrow & Ball. This beautiful soft black and blue color blends well with the structured design and shows our superior craftsmanship. The colors make a difference, especially the neutral tones and polished chrome fixtures and fittings.
Farrow And Ball Railings
Our custom shaker designs at Harringary are hand painted on Farrow & Ball ‘rails’. These soft blacks and lovely blues make the space feel larger, especially with all the natural light streaming in from the skylights and bi-fold doors. Satin brass handle is a great choice, offering a style that will be loved for many years.
Paean Black by Farrow & Ball is a red on black color inspired by the Georgian style that creates an intimate feeling in a modern or bohemian home. The perfect color goes well with the Farrow & Ball red palette.
Farrow & Ball’s Pitch Black is pure black, the purest black possible. With its opaque color, it stays black in any light. Named for the remains of coal tar often used in roofing, this authentic black has an unparalleled depth and almost velvety quality.
Farrow & Ball’s Black Blue is a delicate dark blue that takes its name from the two primary pigments that make up the rich color. The shade has a dark undertone but looks more blue when viewed in wide areas. If this color is applied to a small area, or against the bright white, it may appear almost black. The shade is very delicate, perfect for people who love color.
